Turn your TikTok or Instagram recipe into a recipe card

Paste the link to one of your posts. We read the recipe out of the caption, or, when you only say it out loud, read the video itself with agentic video understanding, and hand you a card to print or share. A recipe from your blog works too.

No recipe in your caption? Your video has it.

Most recipe videos never write the recipe down. The caption is the dish and a few hashtags; the recipe is in what you say and what you put on screen. We read the caption first, and when the recipe isn't there, agentic video understanding reads the video itself and writes it down. Agentic means it can search, scan and go back over the whole video the way you would, so an amount you say once, early on, still gets caught.

What you say
Ingredients and amounts, spoken while you cook, become the ingredient list.
What you show
Text on screen, labels and each step you film become the method, in order.
The times you mention
“Forty minutes on low” becomes a cook time on the card.

The card says when it came from the video, and points out anything the video never made clear, so you check the amounts before you share it. Your readers want both: in a March 2026 survey of 366 US home cooks, 82% said seeing the dish prepared matters, and 43% want the written recipe on its own (MorganMyers Food Pulse).

What you can paste

  • A TikTok video

Paste the video's link. If the recipe is in the caption, the card is ready in a second. If you only say it out loud or put it on screen, agentic video understanding reads the video itself and writes the recipe down.

  • An Instagram post or Reel

The same for a post or a Reel: the caption first, then the video when the caption is a dish name and a row of hashtags.

  • A recipe on your blog

Paste one recipe post. We read the recipe card your recipe plugin already writes into the page, so there is nothing to retype.

Questions

How do I turn a TikTok recipe into a recipe card?

Copy the link to the video from TikTok's Share button, paste it here and press Make my card. The ingredients, steps, times and servings come out as a card you can print, copy as text or save as a PDF from the print window.

My caption doesn't have the recipe in it. Can it still work?

Yes. When the caption is only a dish name, agentic video understanding reads the video itself and writes down what you say and show: the ingredients, the amounts and the steps. Reading a video costs us money, so that part asks for your email first. The card says when it was read from the video, so you can check the amounts before you share it.

Do I need to connect my Instagram or TikTok account?

TikTok, no: we read the public video from its link. Instagram, yes: Instagram only shows posts to apps you sign in to, so Continue with Instagram reads your own posts and captions. It works with Creator and Business accounts, never posts anything, and you can disconnect any time.

Can I make a card from somebody else's recipe?

It is made for your own posts. Every card names the creator when the post does and always links back to the original post, whoever pastes it, so the credit stays with the person who made the recipe.

Do you publish or save my recipe?

We never publish or index it. The card is drawn in your browser. When we read a video, the recipe we wrote down is kept privately for up to 30 days so the same post is not read twice.

Is it free?

Yes. Recipes written in a caption or on a page are free with no account. Recipes read from a video need a free sign-in with your email, up to five videos a day.

Can my recipes live on a website of my own instead?

That is what Peristyle builds: a site of your own for your recipes, with a grocery cart your readers can fill in one tap at their local store, credited to you. Make it a page on your own site takes this recipe with you. The first 30 days are free, then it is $89 a month.
