Is your recipe shoppable?

Paste one recipe link. We read it the way a grocery cart has to, line by line, and tell you whether a reader could shop it in one tap, and what to fix if not.

One recipe post, not your homepage. PeristyleBot fetches that one page; nothing is stored or indexed.

See how cooks shop your recipes in AI assistants

Put your recipes in the Peristyle grocery cart and your dashboard shows how cooks find and shop them through AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude: how many opened each recipe, which assistant brought them, and how many filled a cart.

Example data for a mid-size food blog, not a real account. Your dashboard counts the cooks who reach your recipes through Peristyle, in assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Grok. It is not a measure of every mention of you in AI search.

Also on your dashboard

  • Your top recipes, with viewers and carts for each one
  • Carts filled each week, so you can see a recipe take off
  • The brands your readers put in their carts, with lines and value
  • Ingredients shoppers could not match to a store product, so you know which lines to reword
  • Confirmed purchases, and all-time totals since you joined

What the checker reads

A recipe card the machine can read

The recipe structured data your recipe plugin writes into the page. Without it, the ingredients are just words in a long post, and nothing can shop them.

Ingredient lines a cart can match

Each line read as an amount, a unit and an ingredient, the way a cart has to read it to pick a product. “2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved” matches; “tomatoes (see note)” is a guess.

Steps, servings and times

Separate steps so the method comes through in order, servings so a cart knows how much to buy, and the time it takes so a reader knows what they are signing up for.

Your photo and your name

A photo on the recipe card, and the author, so every cart made from the recipe carries your name and a link back to the post.

What happens to the page you check

PeristyleBot, our crawler, fetches the one page you paste, once, and reads its recipe card. Nothing from it is stored, indexed or added to the grocery cart, and no sign-up or email is asked for. It identifies itself and signs every request, so your site can tell it is ours. How PeristyleBot works, and how to control it.

Shoppable recipe questions

What makes a recipe shoppable?

A recipe is shoppable when a grocery cart can be filled from it without a person retyping anything: the page carries recipe structured data, every ingredient is in the recipe card on its own line, and each line names an amount, a unit and an ingredient clearly enough to match a real product at the store.

My recipe plugin is switched on. Why is my recipe not shoppable?

Usually one of three things. The recipe card was not added to this particular post, so the plugin writes nothing; the ingredients sit in the post text instead of the card; or the lines mix several ingredients, notes and headings in a way no cart can match. The checker shows which lines it could not read, so you can fix those first.

Which recipe plugins work?

Any plugin that writes standard recipe structured data in JSON-LD, which includes WP Recipe Maker, Tasty Recipes and Mediavine Create. A hand-written recipe with no card can still be read by a person, but not by a cart.

Is this the same as the AI visibility checker?

No. The AI visibility checker on /report asks whether ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants may read your recipe and credit you by name. This checker asks whether a grocery cart can be filled from it, line by line. A recipe can pass one and fail the other.

Do you save or index the page I check?

No. PeristyleBot fetches the one page you submit, once, to run the checks. Nothing from it is stored, indexed or added to any catalog, and no sign-up or email is needed.
