Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Peristyle, including peristyle.io, our publishing tools, and the Peristyle Grocery Cart recipe catalog (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you are using Peristyle for an organization, you agree on its behalf.

The Service

Peristyle is a publishing service for food creators and food bloggers. It hosts your website, generates the machine-readable parts of your work such as alt text and structured data, and can bring in your recipes so assistants can find and shop them. Peristyle is in active development, and features may change as we improve them.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Provide accurate information, and let us know if you believe your account has been used without your permission. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country to use the Service.

Acceptable use

When you use Peristyle, you agree not to:

• publish content you do not have the right to publish;
• break the law or infringe the rights of others;
• upload malware, attempt to breach our security, or disrupt the Service;
• scrape or overload the Service in ways that harm other creators or readers;
• misrepresent another person's work as your own.

Your content

You keep ownership of the recipes, photos, and writing you publish on Peristyle. You grant us the limited license needed to host, display, back up, and serve your content, including making it available to readers and, where you enable it, to assistants through the Peristyle Grocery Cart. You can export your content and remove it at any time, and that license ends when you do, except for copies we must keep for legal or backup reasons for a reasonable period.

Plans, billing, and trials

Some features require a paid plan. Paid plans renew automatically for the term you choose until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard, and your plan stays active through the end of the current billing period. Free trials let you try the Service at no cost; unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid plan. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

AI features and third-party services

Peristyle uses automated tools to assist with tasks like alt text and SEO, and relies on third-party providers for hosting, payments, and email. Your use of those features may be subject to the providers' terms. Automated output can contain mistakes, so review anything important before you rely on it.

Intellectual property

Peristyle, including its software, design, and brand, belongs to us and our licensors. These terms do not give you any rights to our trademarks or brand without our written permission.

Disclaimers

Peristyle is provided "as is" and "as available." While the product is in its early stages, features may be added, changed, or removed. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties not expressly stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peristyle is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Termination

You can stop using Peristyle and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that harms others. If we end your account without cause, we will give you a chance to export your content.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. When changes are material, we will update the date above and let you know where appropriate. Continuing to use Peristyle after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Peristyle operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The governing jurisdiction will be confirmed before launch.
